Meeting on new city fee canceled

A meeting scheduled for Tuesday to address the recently added $5 wastewater fee has been canceled and a new date will be announced later, Airport and Utilities Committee chairman and Council president R.L. Jones said this morning. Garbage trucks promoting Census

The city of Blytheville has discovered a unique vehicle to get the word out about the 2010 Census. When residents see their garbage being picked up each week, they will be reminded of the Census by signs bolted to each side of the garbage truck. Both of the two city of Blytheville garbage trucks will have signs on each side that say: "United States Census 2010, It's in OUR HANDS."...

Auditions today, Saturday for local production

The Act 2! community theater group will be holding auditions for "Kitchen Witches" by Caroline Smith from 6:30-8:30 Thursday and from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Ritz Civic Center. Available roles include two male roles and two adult female roles. The play is being produced by special arrangement with the play company Samuel French Inc. and will be under the direction of Sarah Jackson.
