Ag liens to be centralized at state office

Beginning Jan. 1, all agricultural and farm-related liens will be centralized in the Arkansas Secretary of State's office, instead of being filed in the 75 individual circuit clerk's offices around the state. A Mississippi County Road Department employee was killed in a two-vehicle accident early this morning, according to the Arkansas State Police. Bradley Edward Stone, 27, of the Manila/Caraway area, died when the Ford F150 pickup he was driving east on Highway 158 collided with a tractor-trailer that was traveling westbound on Highway 158 and reportedly turned into the path of the Stone pickup at the intersection of Highways 158 and 325...

Postal carrier attacked by dogs

A Blytheville Postal worker was attacked by two dogs Thursday while delivering mail on his route, according to a Blytheville Police report. Mark Martin, 49, of Armorel, was delivering mail at a residence on First and Davis Streets at 12:23 p.m. Thursday, when he heard some dogs barking. Martin said he then saw a large brown dog and a small brown pit bull charging at him. Martin was unable to escape from the dogs as they attacked him...
