Charles Payne, 75, of Blytheville died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, in Memphis. Born to John and Gladys Ball Payne in Monette, Charles was a retired GED director at Mississippi County Community College and retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his children, Maureen Giggs of Gosnell, Petra Jagora of Summerville, S.C., Peter Sattler of Dunnellon, Fla., and Alfred Sattler of Belize, South America; a brother, Robert Bell of Monette; and a sister, Elizabeth Donahue of Jonesboro.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) in Bethany Baptist Church in Gosnell. Burial will be in Monette Cemetery. Cobb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
