Christeen Morgan - Black Oak

Christeen Barrett Morgan, 73, of Black Oak, died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born at Bunny and lived at Black Oak and Bunny a lifetime. She was a homemaker and member of the Rivervale Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, L.E. Morgan of the home; four daughters, Linda Lee Parker of Manila, Brenda Whitney of Black Oak, Martha Gale Teague of Bentress, La., and LaDonna June Hetler of Jonesboro; a son, Linus Eric Morgan of Joiner; four sisters, Joy May Thomas of Bono, Norma Jean Brooks of Holland, Mich., Alice Faye Wright of Marked Tree, and Rita Ann Turner of Mammoth Springs; three brothers, Owen Junior Barrett of Monette, Jimmy Argil Barrett of Black Oak, and Dale Dewayne Barrett of Caraway; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Alice Barrett; a sister, Imogene Kelly; three brothers, Claudie Joe Barrett, Ervin Doyle (Cub) Barrett, and Ronald Lee (Ronnie) Barrett; and a grandson, Landon Eric Morgan.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rivervale Baptist Church at Rivervale with Rev. Jesse Hodges officiating. Burial was in the Monette Cemetery with Gregg Funeral Home of Monette in charge.

Pallbearers were Billy Roach, Keith Turner, Kenneth Turner, Gaylon Barrett, Berick Barrett and Ronnie Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers were Rudy Anderson, Jerry Barrett, Lanny Teague, John Parker, David Whitney and Chris Hetler.
