Aletta Faye Rose, age 77, of Leachville, passed from this life, Saturday Aug. 24, 2013 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born at Arbyrd, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Vernon "Cotton" and Johnnie Jackson Barnes and was a 1954 graduate of Arbyrd High School. She had been a Leachville resident for most of her life and worked many years at the former Brown Shoe Company in Leachville. She and her late husband of 55 years, Mr. Floyd Rose, owned and operated Rose's Grocery for several years where she was known and loved by countless customers for her wonderful cooking, and above all, her kind and gracious spirit. She served her Lord and Savior for many years at the Second Baptist Church in Leachville through teaching and loving children of all ages, and loving and feeding pastors and their families. She gave freely of her resources, time, and of herself to friends, neighbors, and often times, strangers. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two great-granddaughters; Adalyn Faith Rose, daughter of Jonas and Kortnie Rose, and an angel baby daughter of Josh and Lindsey Rose.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law Ricky and Connie Rose of Jonesboro and Randy and Terry Rose of Leachville; three brothers, Bill Barnes and his wife, Masako of Kennewick, Wash., Larry Barnes and his wife, Glenda of Paragould, and Garry Barnes and his wife, Carrie of Pocahontas; her sister, Callie Walker and her husband, Danny of Bay.
