Meral Ray Langston, 47, of Caraway, passed away June 17, 2013. He was born to George and Emma Langston on June 2, 1966 in Monette. Meral worked at the Monette Co-Op and was a fire fighter as well as an EMS for 10 years. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting and being with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Helms Langston of the home; son, Julius "Pete" Helms of Caraway; daughter, Emma Langston of Caraway; father, George Langston of Paragould; three brothers, Clyde Langston of Manila, Franklin Langston of Bono, and Paul Langston of Batesville; sister, Flora Boatman of Caraway; granddaughter, Everlee Helms of Caraway as well as a host of family and friends.

Meral was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Langston; grandparents, George and Emily Langston and Clyde and Armenty Ramsey, as well as his great-grandmother, Alice Luff.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the First Baptist Church in Monette with Rev. Glenn Hoselton officiating. Interment followed in Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home. Visitation was at the church on Thursday from noon until service time.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Hoss Pendergrass, Bill Pendergrass and the firefighters of Caraway. Honorary pallbearers were local area firefighters and EMS.
