Randle Irene "Peet" Hill

Randle Irene "Peet" Hill, 70, of Batesville, former longtime Manila resident and widow of Mr. Ira Arthur "Sonny" Hill, passed from this life early Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at her home in Batesville. Born in Holtville, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Agnes Stark Sweet and had lived most of her life in Manila. She was a certified nurses aide and a former employee of the Manila Nursing Center. Mrs. Hill had been a Batesville resident since 2001, was retired from the Rolling Hills Nursing Center, and was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include one son, Michael Hill of Osceola; one daughter, Patricia Carter of Manila; five grandchildren, Barron Scott Hill, Linda Brooks, Jerry Elrod, Keith Michael Hill, and Christopher Lee Hill; five sisters, Agnes Rochwick of Riverside, Iowa, Sylvia Courtney of Midland, Mich., Margaret Scrivner of Caulfield, Mo., Lavada Louise Hemsted of Columbus Junction, Iowa, and Sheila Kay May of Caulfield, M. She also leaves 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was 2 p.m. Sunday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Robert White and Rev. Gary Galloway officiating. Burial followed in Manila Cemetery.

The family received visitors Saturday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers included grandchiuldren and nephews.
