Charlotte Owen Deaton

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

Charlotte Owen Deaton, infant daughter of John and Danna Scott Deaton of Manila, was born July 23, 2012, in Little Rock. She was a living reminder of God's Grace. Charlotte spent 59 days of her 60 day life at the Arkansas Children's Hospital. She was loved and cared for by many mommies and daddies. The staff and medical team at ACH fell in love with Charlotte, along with her immediate family and community of friends and prayer warriors. Jesus came to take Charlotte to Heaven on Sept. 21, 2012 at the Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Paul Deaton and Danny Scott.

She taught many people about real faith. She taught many to pray. She taught many about God's Grace and unfailing love. Charlotte's life drew many people to a closer relationship with Christ. Charlotte Owen Deaton touched more lives in her 60 day life, than most adults ever do. God used this child in mighty ways. God did heal her, and he healed many more through her. God used Charlotte to demonstrate what faith really is. "Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see." (Hebrews 11:1) She was a blessing to every person that met her. She blessed many others that never got the pleasure of meeting her. We are all, truly "Blessed by Charlotte."

In addition to her parents Charlotte is survived by her sister, Mary Scott Deaton of Manila; grandparents, Rick and Charlotte Myers of Jonesboro and Mary Lou Deaton of Manila.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the First Baptist Church in Manila with Rev. Ferrell Duffel officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.

Pallbearers will be Michael Deaton, Randy Deaton, David Joe Deaton, and Keith Deaton. The family received visitors Monday evening from 5:30-8 at the First Baptist Church.

The family prefers any memorials be made to the Arkansas Childrens Hospital, NICU, 1 Childrens Way, Little Rock, AR 72202-3591 or in honor of Charlotte Deaton, to The Butterfly House, P.O. Box 1132, Manila, AR 72442. Friends may sign the guest register at www.howardfuneralservice.com.
