Zell Vada Grooms

Mrs. Zell Vada Grooms, 92, of Leachville, passed from this life, Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Childress, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Robert Porter and Gracie Sipes Baldridge and had been a Leachville area resident for most of her life. She was the widow of Mr. Elman Grooms and was retired from Brown Shoe Company in Leachville. Mrs. Grooms was a longtime member of the Leachville Assembly of God and had served as a Sunday school teacher and pianist for many years.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Virginia Grooms of Paragould; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and LTC (Ret) David Wallace of Leachville; three grandchildren, Jason Wallace, Kelly Wallace, Chris and Shawna Grooms; two great-grandchildren, Blaine and Brylee Grooms. She also leaves a sister, Lucille Adams, of Jonesboro.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Tom Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Tuesday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Harold Wayne Latting, Jerry Yates, Tommy Eldried, Tim Adams, Kenny Adams, Steve Baldridge, and Bob Peel. Honorary pallbearers will include, Chris Grooms and Jason Wallace.
