Houston Eugene "Gene" Hamilton

Houston Eugene "Gene" Hamilton, 66, of Manila, passed from this life Sunday July 22, 2012 in Blytheville. Born at New Ark, Ark., he was the son of the late Roy Enoch and Mable Mae Hodges Hamilton. He was a 1963 graduate of Manila High School and had been a longtime Osceola resident before making his home in Manila in 1988. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Terra Nitrogen of Blytheville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Junior Hamilton, and three sisters, Brenda Hamilton, Mary Webb and Betty Barber.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Hart Hamilton of the home; two sons, Cody Hamilton of Manila and Jason McCollum of Poplar Grove, Ill.; two daughters, Tabitha Dixon and her husband Mark of Dell, Ark., and Tonia Dotters and her husband Charles of Osceola;

two brothers, Gary Hamilton of Jonesboro, Ark., and Albert Hamilton of Escondido, Calif.; two sisters, Wanda Bottoms of El Cajon, Calif., and Janis Mitchell of Manila.

He also leaves five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 26, in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Joey Smithson officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Cody Hamilton, Jason McCollum, Justin Ford, Michael Ford, Gunner Ault and Hunter Hamilton.
