Mr. Floyd Gilbert Henry, 94, of Manila, passed from this life early Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Manila he was the son of the late George L. and Mary Frances Johnigan Henry and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a retired farmer and longtime member of the Brown's Chapel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Morris Henry, a son, Lonnie Dale Henry, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one great-great-grandchild.
Survivors include three sons, Floyd Eugene Henry of Corpus Christie, Texas, Jimmy Ray "Hardrock" Henry and
Rick Henry, both of Manila; one daughter, Bonnie Henry Beal of Rector; and a special nephew, Woodrow Henry of Manila. Mr. Henry also leaves 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Eddie Hawkins and Rev. Mark Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery. The family received visitors Tuesday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
