Mary Edith Weyer, age 70 of Paragould, Arkansas, died Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas after a brave battle with cancer. Born October 27, 1940, in Arbyrd, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Leo and Lois Skelton Stumon and had been a long-time area resident. Mrs. Weyer was a member of the West View Baptist Church in Paragould, Arkansas and retired from Wal-Mart in Paragould.
Mrs. Weyer enjoyed working in her yard and she loved her dogs Pepper and Izzy very much.
She is survived by; her son: Bruce Weyer of Paragould, Arkansas; three grandchildren: Alan Weyer of Brookland, Arkansas, Madison Kellim of Paragould, Arkansas and Samatha Weyer of Benton, Arkansas; one sister: Martha Franks and husband Larry of Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas; two nieces: Teresa Glover and Kim Bain; one nephew: Brady Jordan; two great-nieces, four great-nephews, five great-great-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Weyer also leaves her best friends: Marge Lancaster of Senath, Missouri, Ruth Ann Prater and Reba Pillows both of Paragould.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Herbert Weyer, the father of her son Bruce.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at the West View Baptist Church in Paragould, Ark., with Rev. Marc Reeves officiating. Burial to follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould with Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive visitors Friday 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Pallbearers will be: Jason Bain, Jesse Bain, Phillip Jordan, Steven Larkin, Barry Bain and Joe Lane. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the American Cancer Society or the West View Baptist Church.
