Benton -- Dorothy Lee (Odom) Wright, age 94, of Benton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011. She was born December 30, 1916, in Bogota, Tenn., to the late Ernest T. Odom and Mary Francis Briggance Odom. Mrs. Wright resided in Manila from 1923 to 1984 when she and J.C. moved to Benton. Dorothy Lee Wright -- loving wife and mother -- was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be missed by all. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, J.C. Wright, her son, Jerry Wayne Wright, her sister, Roland E. Vastbinder, an infant brother John R. Odom, and infant sister, Opal L. Odom.
Mrs. Wright is survived by one son, James Larry Wright and wife, Jean of Lexington, N.C.; her only daughter, J. Diann Duty and husband, Jess of Benton; two granddaughters, Sarah A. Duty of Benton and Pamela Lynn Moore and husband, Carl of Osceola; six grandsons, J.C. Clements of Benton, Allen Wayne Wright of Osceola, Wesley William Wright of Bono, Jimmy W. Wright of Jonesboro, Richard "Rick" Wright of Reno, Nev., and John Wright; eleven great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Mrs. Wright's health care aide, Anna Alsup of Benton.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047) with Dr. Rick Grant officiating. Interment will follow at New Rosemont Memorial Park in Benton.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at the funeral home.
