Junior Whitehead, age 80 of Leachville, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at his home. Born at Manila he was the son of the late Jim James and Blanche Bernor Whitehead and had been a lifelong area resident. He was retired from the Randall Company in Blytheville and was a longtime member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Manila. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Dean Whitehead, a son, Joe Whitehead, a daughter, Joy Whitehead and his step-father, Charlie Wilkey.
He is survived by two sons, Larry Whitehead of Leachville and Terry Whitehead and his wife, Suzie of Sarepta, La.; three brothers, Marvin Whitehead of Blytheville, Nick Wilkey of Bradford Wendell Wilkey of Jonesboro; seven sisters, Bertha McCormick of Manila,
Marie Gamble of Manila, Earline Hicks of Bowling Green, Ky., Mary Kis of Blytheville
Glenda Johnson of Paragould, Barbara Warren of Dumas, Linda Brewer of Jonesboro.
He also leaves six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Rudy Burrow officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery. The family received visitors Monday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home. Guest register @www.HowardFuneralService.com.
