James Donald "Don" Staggs

Mr. James Donald "Don" Staggs, 66, of Caraway, went to be with his Savior on October 30, 2010, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Staggs was born on Nov. 1, 1943, in Parkdale, Ark., to the late John and Vinnie Staggs. Mr. Staggs was a member of Rowe's Chapel Baptist Church serving as Sunday School Director and on the advisory council. He was a butcher, owner of Caraway Food Center, farmer, Mason, Shriner, served on the school board, member of the Lions Club, and served on the Craighead County Mounted Patrol. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding and serving his community. He was a loving "Pop", father, husband, and brother and cared deeply about his family.

Survivors include his wife: Teresa Elise Staggs of Caraway; one son, Bo Staggs and wife Kelly of Germantown, Tenn.; one daughter, Jamie Stallsmith and husband Tony of Collierville, Tenn.; one stepdaughter, Amanda Jo Churchill of Caraway; two stepsons: Edgar T. Daniels (T-Bird) and Marcus Price; two brothers: Bobby Staggs and wife Janie of Statesboro, Ga., and Buddy Staggs and wife Sherry of Sparta, Tenn.; five sisters: Betty Prance of Caraway, Glenda Womble and husband Billy of Keller, Texas, Patsy Fike and husband Allen of Bono, Susie Butterworth of Bono, and Sherrie Kirkland and husband Scott of Fort Worth, Texas; five grandchildren: Katelyn, Colton, Cayley, Jonathan and Jacob; father and mother-in-law: Bill and Paula Anderson, two brothers-in-laws: Andy Anderson and Eric Anderson, four sisters-in-laws: LaDeana Quesnel, Amy McClain, Shirley Staggs and Lisa Staggs, several nephews and nieces and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Staggs was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Sonny Staggs and Gary Staggs; and one sister: "Lil Sis" Judy Wallace.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Rowe's Chapel Baptist Church, Caraway, with Rev. Glen Holeston and Rev. Rick Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at Caraway Cemetery with Faith Funeral Service, 870-561-1197, in charge of arrangements. The family received visitors from 6:00 -- 9:00 pm on Monday, Nov. 1, at the church. Pallbearers are Kenneth Faulkner, Terry Couch, Dale Haas, Robert Anderson, Brian Crews, Garry Jolliff, LeeVi Haas and Ricci Waugh. Honorary pallbearers are Lynn Haag, Marvin Browning, Larry Barrett, Asa Boatman, Merle Bard, Robert Adcock, Mike Adams and Burl McCormick.
