Betty Lou Hawkins, 70, of Rochelle, Ill., died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at Trumann Health Care, Trumann, Arkansas. Ms. Hawkins was born June 14, 1940, in Dixon, Ill., to the late William C. and Vada Coates Hill. Ms. Hawkins was a lifelong resident of Rochelle, Ill., and had lived in Trumann about one month. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Rick Hawkins of Alabama and Robert Hawkins of Illinois; three sisters, Pamela Goatcher and husband Boyce of Trumann, Brenda Goatcher and husband Robert of Wynne, and Deborah Parks of Fort Meyers, Fla.; two sisters, Shirley Griffith and husband Vernon of Illinois and Verna Hill of Illinois; nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Ms. Hawkins was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Hawkins; a brother, Billy Joe Hill; and a granddaughter, Angela Goatcher.
The family has requested a private memorial service and disposition. Faith Funeral Service of Manila was in charge of arrangements.
