Ruby Pearl Kelton, 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at her residence. She was born at Swifton on Aug. 12, 1927, to the late Everett and Flossie Riley. She was a homemaker and a member of the Buffalo Chapel Baptist Church. She loved watching the news, farming, cooking, meeting people, outdoors and fishing. No one was a stranger in her home and she was always eager to help those in need.

Survivors include a son, Ron Kelton and his wife Cheryl of Jonesboro; daughter-in-law, Kim Kelton of Caraway; two grandchildren, Kimberley Kelton Jaco and husband Jim of Austin, Texas, and Kris Kelton of Caraway; five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Austin, Isabella, Victoria and Eva; a sister, Verneal McKinney; a brother, Bill Riley and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by husband, Hershel Leon Kelton; a son, Donnie Kelton; a grandson, Teddy Kelton; three sisters, Vonda Anderson, Lavell Fletcher, Anna Joe Pendegraft and a brother, Paul Riley.

A celebration of her life was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, in the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel at Caraway with Rev. Rick Stevens and Rev. Larry Pendegraft officiating. Private burial followed. The family received friends from noon to time of service in the funeral home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were John Starnes, Terry Ruiz, Don Orr, Bo Riley, Dairyl Anderson, Ray Kelton and Troy Case.
