Jimmie Doyle "Sonny" Ladd, Jr., 59, of Leachville, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at the Boynton Community near Leachville, he was the son of the late Jimmie and Laverne Clark Ladd and had been a lifelong Leachville resident. Sonny was a 1968 graduate of Leachville High School and later attended the University of Central Arkansas in Conway and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He was the owner and operator of Ladd's Auto Parts and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Goad Ladd of the home; two daughters, Katie Ladd and Kelsey Ladd, both of the home; a brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Nancy Ladd of Leachville; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Jim Kennett of Leachville,
Rhonda and Keith Morris of Paragould, and Anita Gail and Joe Miller of Blytheville.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Cardwell Cemetery.
The family received visitors Saturday evening from 6-9 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Alan Fortenberry, Ronnie Metcalf, Mark Johnson, Kenny Jackson, Randy Jackson and Todd Edwards.
