Darrell Dwayne Watkins, II, 26, of Blytheville, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born Jan. 12, 1983, in Blytheville to Darrell Dwayne Watkins and Trisha Dawn Watkins, he was a lifelong area resident of the protestant faith. He was a graduate of Gosnell High School and Arkansas State University, where he received a bachelor's degree in biology. He was an office manager for the Optometry Group of Memphis, and his goal was to become an optometrist.
He is survived by his mother, Trisha Dawn Watkins of Blytheville; his father, Darrell Dwayne Watkins and wife, Barbara, of Manila; grandparents, Bill and Barbara Ward of Blytheville and Clayton and Jeanette Watkins of Gosnell; a brother, Chris "Chief" Watkins of Blytheville; two sisters, Katie Watkins and Kelsen Watkins of Manila; and special friends, Gaye and Steve McCarty of Marion.
The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville with Rev. Don Childers officiating. Burial was at Dogwood Cemetery in Blytheville. Condolences can be e-mailed to email@example.com.
