Mary Ollie Hicks McGuire, 91, of Caraway, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009. Born at Batesville, she was the daughter of the late D.I. and Nellie Hinton Stoner and had lived most of her life in the Caraway and Manila area. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a retired health care worker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Sam Hicks and Clarence McGuire, and a daughter, Teresa Kae Hicks.
Survivors include her children, Nadine Malone and husband James of Williams, Ariz.; Violet Mae Parks and husband Jim of Lonoke; Sammy Gene Hicks and wife Mae Esther of Caraway; Patricia Ann Ashabranner and husband Jerry, of Manila; Arlene Faulkner and husband Kenneth of Caraway; Denise Buckelew and husband Frank of Hartland, Wis.; her brother George Stoner of Batesville; grandchildren, Leisa Farr, Michelle Donovan, Vernon Malone, Jennifer Evans, Melissa Parks, Felicia Piercy, Shon Ashabranner, Chris Ashabranner, Cyndi Couch, Ronnie Crump, Byron Hicks, Kenna Coley, Kelsey Faulkner, Shannon Buckelew and Nina Buckelew; great-grandchildren, Cassandra Killingsworth, Brandon Farr, Heather Farr, Sammy Donovan, David Donovan, Jake Malone, Josh Malone, Jimmy Evans, Lawson Evans, Jordan Couch, Jacob Couch, Chelsea Reinersman, Caleb Waugh, Destiny Hicks, Emily Hicks, Samera Hicks, Caden Hicks, Taylor Piercy, Hunter Ashabranner, Tori Ashabranner and Brandon Crump; her great-great-grandchildren, Elijah Couch, Gabriel Couch and Seth Couch.
The funeral was 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at New Hope Baptist Church in Caraway with Rev. Rick Stevens officiating. Burial was in Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.
