Verlene Fullen, 82, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born Dec. 3, 1925 in Childress to the late John and Zona Fullen. She was a member of the Monette First Baptist Church, where she had been the
church secretary and treasurer and a member of the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Monette Garden Club. She retired from Liberty Bank, where she was a vice president.
Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Hoggard of Hernando, Miss., and Vauna Clark of Monette; four nephews, Mike Clark of Little Rock, Wayne Hoggard of Moss Point, Miss., Wes Hoggard of Hernando and Steve Hoggard of Olive Branch, Miss. and a niece, Dr. Susan Wamble of Pine Bluff.
A celebration of her life was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Revs. William Piercy and Rusty Bird officiating. Burial will follow in Macey Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Chambers, Hamil Million, Franklin Smithee, Kevin Wimberley, Tink Wimberley and Sam Wamble.
