Virginia Hendershott, 82, of Manila died Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Hernando, Miss. She was born Aug. 18, 1925, in Leachville to the late Lloyd and Anna Layne Sr. She retired from Florafax Printing in Leachville and was a member of the Manila First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Larry and Maureen Hendershott of Florida, David and Sue Hendershott of Arkansas, and Ronnie and Linda Hendershott of Texas; two daughters, Carol Ann Barnett of North Carolina and Barbara Harris and husband Randy of Mississippi; a sister and her husband, Patsy and Ron Koppelmann of Missouri; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Layne Jr. and Elwyn Layne, and two grandchildren.

A celebration of her life was held Saturday, June 14, at 10 a.m. at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette. Burial was in Monette Memorial Cemetery.
