Walter Glen Martin, 83, of Caraway, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was retired from both David Sales and Service co. and Basler Electric in Caraway. He was a member of the Caraway Masonic Lodge and Caraway United Methodist Church. He served in the military during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Elly Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Lorene Martin of the home; a daughter, Rhonda Glenn of Marked Tree; two sons, Jerry Martin of Caraway and Ronnie Martin of Lepanto; three grandchildren, Holly Woody, Melanie Gyngard and Ethan Glenn; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Woody, Hannah Gyngard and Brayden Gyngard; and a step-great-grandchild, Erin Woody.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Caraway United Methodist Church with Rev. Beverly Watkins officiating. Langford-Bookout Funeral Home of Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements.
The family received guests in the Caraway United Methodist Church fellowship hall following the memorial service.
