Etowah
William "Bill" Cochran, 82, of Etowah, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at SMC Regional Medical Center in Osceola. He was born June 22, 1925, at Tomato. He was a retired carpenter and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Carpenter's Union and Lions Club in Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Cochran and Mary Dockry; a daughter, Peggy Tessin; and four brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Cochran of the home; a daughter, Reba Hoskins of Keiser; two sons, Bobby Cochran of Chicago, Ill., and James Winn of Etowah; four sisters, Mary Ellen Scott of Osceola, Doris Sulcer of Marked Tree, Patsy Bradshaw of Marked Tree, and Elaine Comer of Batesville; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola with Brother Jerry Weathers officiating. Burial was at Garden Point Cemetery in Etowah under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
