Clarence Ray Rogers, 100, of Monette died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at Monette Manor. He was born in Ravenden but had lived in Monette most of his life. He celebrated his 100th birthday with family and friends. He was a farmer and of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his son, Junior Ray Rogers of Monette; a daughter, Virgie Shirley of Ravenden; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 48 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eve Wayne and Maggie Margaret Rogers; two daughters, Velma Lorene Platz and Annie Lee Patterson; two sons, George Wayne Rogers and Troy Lynn Rogers; two brothers; and five sisters.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday in Gregg Funeral Home chapel at Monette with Rev. Ronnie Langston officiating. Burial was in Monette Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
Pallbearers were Ricky Shirley, Terry Shirley, Jr., Robert Anderson, Robbie Shirley, Allen Luff and James Lamar.
