Lee Roy "Pete" Dortch, 72, of Leachville, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Leachville, he was the son of the late Ira Lee and Stella Beatrice Gossett Dortch, and was a retired carpenter. He was a former California resident, and a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He returned to Leachville in 1994 where he was a member of the First Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee Dortch, in 1980.
Survivors include his wife, Estella Poe Dortch, of the home; a stepson, Ronnie Crawford, of Kensett; two brothers, J.W. Dortch and Calvin Dortch, both of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Ima Jean McCullough of Blytheville; four grandchildren, Kelli Mejia, Kevin Crawford, Michael Dortch, and Joseph Dortch; and four great-grandchildren, Calob Mejia, David Mejia, Andrew Dortch, and Shawna Marie Dortch.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Jerry Kausler officiating. Burial was in Leachville Cemetery.
