Lela Evangeline Swihart, 93, of Leachville, widow of J.L. Swihart, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. Born at Hornersville, Mo., she was the daughter of the late W.W. and Ruth Painter Branum and had lived most of her life in Leachville. She was a farmer's wife, homemaker and member of the Leachville First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Holly Swihart, of Leachville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Jerry Carter of Little Rock, Carol and Glenn Jones of Little Rock, and Mary and Keith Schupbach, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 1:30 Feb. 15 at Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Donnie Hudson officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jerry Carter, Jr., Brent Collier, George Elliot Collier, Stuart Jones, Derek Jones, Steve Neuter, Joe Murphy, Douglas Braswell, King Benson and John Schupbach.
