Margaret Bernice Gardner, 81, of Los Fresnos, Texas, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2005. She was born Feb. 8, 1924, in Flint, Mich., the daughter of Charles Moye and Mittie Johnson Moye.

She was a retired nurse, a member of the Lake City United Methodist Church and a longtime resident of Lake City.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Pool and her husband, Bob, of Bayview, Texas; a sister, Wanda Barker of Newark; two grandchildren, Maria Buzzard and her husband, Robert, and Dawn Philpot; a great-grandchild, Grant Buzzard; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Charles Gardner and Ricky Stacy; and her husband, Charles Gardner.

A memorial service was held Wednesday in the Willis-Hays Chapel at Batesville with John High officiating.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the United Methodist Church at Lake City.

Arrangements were under the direction of Willis-Hays Funeral Service of Batesville.
