Russell Andrew Shatley, 97, of Cardwell, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Paragould, he was a retired custodian and bus driver for the Greene County Tech School District. He was a member of Calvary Full Gospel Church of Cardwell.
Survivors include three sons, Leon Shatley of Sterling Heights, Mich., Hughlen D. Shatley of Paragould and Curtis D. Shatley of Jonesboro; three daughters, Ewald B. Frontz of Old Hickory, Tenn., Sharon Burroughs of Hermitage, Tenn., and Carla D. Swindle of Paragould; a sister, Glenevee Jones of Fennville, Mich.; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alline Shatley; his parents, Andrew J. and Melinda Rose Shatley; infant triplets; three brothers and five sisters.
The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Leland Jim Dement officiating. Burial was in Greene County Memorial Gardens.
Grandsons served as active pallbearers and granddaughters were honorary pallbearers.
