Daisy Jean Martin - Manila

Daisy Jean Martin, 61, of Manila, died Friday at Bright's Landing on Big Lake near Manila. Born at Bay, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Virginia Brinkley Alsup and had been a Manila area resident since 1979. She was retired from American Greeting Corp. of Osceola and was a member of the Westside Church of God.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene Martin of the home; two daughters, Christine Atchley of Paragould and Rhonda Tomblin of Manila; five brothers, Gerald Alsup of Somerville, Tenn., Robert Alsup of Orrick, Mo., Norman Alsup of St. Louis, Mo., James Alsup of Caraway, and Ronnie Alsup of Jonesboro; four sisters, Peggy Petty of Burdette, Mary Alsup of Paragould, Carolyn Brooks of Caraway and Kathy Gore of Wingo, Ky.; 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Kay Alsup, and baby brother Alsup.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Brian Johnson and Rev. James Chipman officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Howard Horton, Jessie Hill, Steven Hill, Mitchell Lasater, Gary Galloway and Randy Martin.

Honorary pallbearers were Justin Atchley and Mitchell Atchley, Jr.
