Glen Sargent, 84, of Lake City, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at his residence. He was retired from general Motors, a member of The congregation of Monette Jehovah's Witnesses, and minister for the Jehovah's Witnesses, and had lived in Lake City for 29 years. He was formerly of Indianapolis, Ind.
He is survived by his wife, Marjie Sargent of the home; a son, Andrew Sargent of Indianapolis, Ind., three daughters, Linda Sargent of Tracy City, Tenn., Marissa Wood of Lake City, and Joni Whitaker of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Garnet Williams of Washington, Ind., and Treva Duckworth of Florida; a brother, Garrett Sargent of Sandborn, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Homer and Nellie Sargent, a son, Richard Sargent, and two sisters and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Monette Kingdom Hall withKenneth Purvis officiating. Gregg Funeral Home of Monette is in charge of arrangements. No visitation is scheduled, the body will be cremated.
