Rev. Lloyd Barrett - Jonesboro
Rev. Lloyd Barrett, 87, of Jonesboro died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at Rose Skill Care Nursing Home in Jonesboro. Born in Roseburg, Ore., he was reared in Black Oak. A Baptist minister and a former employee of General Motors Corp. in Cleveland, he was a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro. He was a member of the Baptist Brotherhood, past chaplain of Picket Post No. 21 in Jonesboro, past leader of the Royal Ambassadors, and a World War II veteran, having served in the Asiatic and Pacific Theaters in the medical corps.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Barrett, of Jonesboro; a daughter, Angel Jacquelynne Barrett of Los Angeles.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Berry officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Langford's Funeral Service.
Visitation will be today (Tuesday) from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
