Harvey Ballard, Jr., 73, of Caraway, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was retired from Milligan Ridge Cotton Gin and was of the Church of Christ belief. He had lived in the Caraway area all of life.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Ballard of the home: two sisters, Shirley McNamara of Jonesboro and Loudean Key of Jonesboro; four brothers, Hubert Ballard of Trumann, Gene Ballard of Peoria, Ill., Marvin Ballard of Trumann, and Donald Ballard of Leachville; three sons, Steve Ballard of Pearcy, Michael Ballard of Pine Bluff and Bruce Ballard of Herington, Kansas; two daughters, Judy Wood of Harrisburg and Jann Harris of Manila; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Winnie Ballard and three brothers, Hubert, Gerald and Larry Ballard and a sister.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Elder Bruce Primm officiating. Burial was in the Caraway Cemetery. Gregg Funeral Home of Monette was in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers were Clifford Ballard, Hubert Ballard, Larry Toombs, Mark Glasgow, Mark Barrett, Greg Barrett, Marvin Browning, and Scott Ballard.
