Nancy Sue Davidson, 37, of Monette passed away June 20, 2013, at The Med in Memphis. Born in Hammond, Ind., she was the daughter of Jimmy Brooks and Sandy Jones and had been a longtime area resident. She enjoyed arts and crafts and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Shane Allen Thompson of the home; her mother, Sandy Jones of Leachville; two brothers, Ricky Ramey and D.K. Ramey, both of Leachville; two sisters, Vicki Lawson of Vail and Chrissy Sheffield of Alabama. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. Ms. Davidson was preceded in death by her grandfather, Lonnie Davidson. Graveside services were held at noon Wednesday, June 26, at the Macey Cemetery in Monette with Rev. Ernest Cornish officiating. The family received visitors Wednesday from 10 until noon at the Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church in Monette under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila.

Bob Hurst was welcomed by the Monette City Council Monday, June 17. Newly appointed alderman Hurst was administered the oath of office before the meeting began. Hurst will replace alderman Joyce Read, who has moved to Memphis.
