Lowell Estes Polston, 68, of Manila, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013. Born at Strawberry, Ark., he was the son of the late Ozzie and Nola Kirk Polston, a 1963 graduate of Manila High School, and served in the U.S. Air Force. After serving in the Air Force, he opened Manila Pro Hardware and was the sole proprietor for 35 years. Lowell was a renowned duck call maker and a member of the Callmakers and Collectors Association of America. He was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Mary Davidson Polston of the home; one son, Bryan Polston of Manila; three daughters,

Brooke Polston Dunigan of Black Oak, Pamela Doster of Paris, Tenn., and Rhonda Sims of Manila.

Lowell was known as Poppy to his eight grandchildren, Mollie Beth Couch, Keelie Dunigan, Morgan Sims, Braden Sims, Landon Carter, Lake Carter, Livia Carter, and Laina Carter.

He is also survived by two brothers, Charles Polston of Fontana, Calif., and Elmer Polston of Harrison, Ark.;

three sisters, Sylvia Pierce of Visalia, Calif., Peggy Reifsnyder of Sinking Spring, Penn., and Loretta Wilson of Osceola.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 9, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Eddie Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Ward Cemetery near Strawberry.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Shedd, Loy Jackson, Jeremy Bennett, Mike Doster, Jesse Taylor, and Bill Gist.
