Kate Harrell

Kate (Handley) Harrell, a good and faithful servant, passed from this life on Monday, May 28, 2012 at age 82.

She was the beloved wife for 50 years of Roy G. Harrell, Sr.; beloved mother of R. Glenn (Darla) Harrell, Jr.; loving grandmother of Emily Pearl and Cody Wyatt Harrell, dear sister of Dora (the late Levie) Essary and the late Gladys (Fate) Watt, Sam (Esther) Handley, Lillie (Paul) McCulough, Robert (Jeffrie) Handley and Cloyd (Nettie) Handley, dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and dear friend to many.

Kate was a 50 year active member of St. Luke's UMC where she always taught Sunday School and taught the Faith Matters adult class for over 22 years.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate Kate's life on Thursday, May 31, for a 5 p.m. memorial service at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, in St. Louis, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Kate's church or the Shriners Hospital for Children would be appreciated. Arrangements were by John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Home, of St. Louis, Mo.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 4, at the Macey Cemetery near Monette, with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Arrangements were by Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott.
