Boyce Fae Braden Howell

Boyce Fae Braden Howell, 93, passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, at St. Bernard Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 24, 1918, in Macey Community to the late James W. and Icie Lee Braden and lived in the Macey, Childress and Monette communities all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Childress Baptist Church for many years before joining the First Baptist Church of Monette in 1962. She taught Sunday School until she was 81 years old and was Woman's Missionary Director for many years.

She was survived by her four children, Jacquelyn Howell, Janis Chambers Piercy, Nancy Stewart all of Monette and Dickie Howell of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren and a host of friends and loved ones.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Howell; a daughter, Mary Wilson; four sisters, Elva Davidson, Edna Oldham, Rosamond Cope and Loyce Click; three brothers, Alton Braden, Roy Braden and Billy Braden.

A celebration of her life was held Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Monette First Baptist Church with Rev. Captain Lovell and Rev. Rusty Bird officiating. Burial followed at Monette Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Visitation was from 12:30 until time of service Wednesday at Monette First Baptist Church.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Perry Chambers, Hayes Howell, Jason Stewart, Kevin Stewart, David Sevier, Robert Clowers, Keith Evans, James Dublin, Harvey Thomas and Chris Lee and as honorary pallbearers are Jim Braden and Royal Tilley.

Lasting memorial may be given to the Monette First Baptist Church.
