Lonnie Wilkerson, 91, of Leachville, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at St. Bernards Medical Center. Mr. Wilkerson was born May 2, 1919, to the late James and Mauldie Wilkerson. He was a long time resident of the Leachville area, an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. He loved his family dearly, was always smiling, retired from Libby McNeil in Kokomo, Ind., enjoyed turtling with his friend Donald, farm work and working at the cotton gin.

Survivors include three sons, Larry Wilkerson of Leachville, Ronnie Wilkerson and wife Shelia of Leachville and Sammie Wilkerson and wife Mandy of Jonesboro; four daughters, Kathy Guy and husband David of Jonesboro, Alice Junyor and husband David of Jonesboro, Linda Bush and husband Roy of Brookland and Helen Fuller and husband Tony of Searcy; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Wilkerson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Florence Wilkerson; two sons, Wayne Wilkerson and Bobby Wilkerson, and a daughter, Irene Wilkerson.

Graveside services were Monday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m. at the Monette Cemetery, with Gregg Stull officiating.

The family received visitors from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, at Faith Funeral Service.
