Vivian Dunigan

Vivian Dunigan, 86, died Monday, March 1, 2010, surrounded by family and friends at her daughter's residence in Jonesboro, following her battle with pancreatic cancer. She was retired from the Buffalo Island Central School cafeteria where she was loved by all. She was a lifelong member of the Black Oak Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Dunigan; her grandson, Jimmy Hardin, and her parents, Henry and Ethel Skidmore.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Hardin and husband, J.L. of Camp, Darlene Baker and husband LeMon of Jonesboro and Connie Dunigan of Paragould; three granddaughters and their husbands, Kristy and Eddie Drain of Camp, Bobbie and Roger Cockran of Salem, Ilene and Kevin McCandlis of Viola; seven great-grandchildren, Samantha Hardin, Tyler Drain, Jenny Lynn Drain, Jared Drain, Adam Cockran, Evan Cockran and Amanda Cockran; a great-great-grandson, Marshal James Pike; a sister, Cecile Roberson of Little Rock; a brother, Frank Skidmore of Billings, Mont.; two sisters-in-law, Dora Dean Powell of Black Oak and Joy Self of Monette; a brother-in-law, Edwin Dunigan of Monette, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at the Black Oak Church of Christ with Eddie Dunigan, Chub Qualls and Tim Bassing officiating. Burial was in Monette Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Dickie Pace, Danny Dunigan, Larry Golden, Bennie Golden, W.O. Armstrong and Johnny Dunigan. Honorary pallbearers were J.D. Coleman, Dr. Dennis Parten and the members of the Black Oak Church of Christ.

Lasting memorials may be sent to the Children's Home in Paragould, the Black Oak Church of Christ or St. Bernards Hospice.
