Eugene "Gene" Loven

Eugene "Gene" Loven of Jonesboro, formally of Trumann, 78, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., after a brief illness. Mr. Loven was born June 11, 1931 to the late Frank Loven and Carrie Black Loven in Old Weona, Arkansas. Mr. Loven was a retired Singer and Delta Wood employee, of the Pentecostal faith, a pastor and minister for over 52 years,loved fishing and hunting, was an Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Rogers Loven of Jonesboro; a son, Christopher Peter Loven and wife Opal of Burdett; a daughter, Rebecca Beaumont and husband Kevin of Bryant; five grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Loven was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carol June Loven; three brothers, Norris Loven, Bill Loven and Floyd Loven; three sisters, Wanda Ball, Betty Mitchell and Claire Tillery.

Funeral services were held at Calvary Pentecostal Church in Trumann at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, with Bro. Rick Forbis and Bro. Boyd Hosman officiating. The family received visitors at Calvary Pentecostal Church in Trumann from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20. Faith Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
