Mrs. Applerine Finley, 89, of Jonesboro, former longtime Leachville resident, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at her home. The daughter of the late Robert and Annie Swedholm Cobbs, she had lived most of her life in Leachville. She was a homemaker and a former employee of the American Greeting Card company in Osceola and had lived in Jonesboro for the past several years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Zan Finley. She was a former member of the Leachville First United Methodist Church and a current member of St. Paul Methodist Church in Jonesboro.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Jo Ella Finley of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Jerry and Debbie Finley of Jonesboro; four brothers, Ervin Cobbs of Heber Springs, R.P. Cobbs of Flint, Mich., Clyde Cobbs of Cardwell, Mo., and Charles Cobbs of Leachville; a sister, Ruth Turner of Winthrop; four grandchildren, Kara Finley Skelton, Kris Finley, Hunter Finley, and Mary Finley; and a great-grandson, Grant Skelton.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Terry Parrish officiating. Burial was in Leachville Cemetery. The family received visitors Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
