Raymond Leon Stroud

Raymond Leon Stroud, 90, of Manila, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at the Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born at Walnut Ridge he was the son of the late George and Minnie Mooney Stroud and had lived many years in Michigan before moving to Manila nearly 30 years ago. Mr. Stroud was a retired Manila police officer and security guard at the former Crompton Company in Osceola. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Woolard Stroud.

He is survived by a brother, Jack Stroud of Dallas, Texas, and a sister, Shirley Dziedzic of St. Joseph, Mich.

Funeral service was 11 a.m. Saturday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Mark Wheeler officiating. Burial was in Manila Cemetery.

The family received visitors Friday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
