James Harold Kennett Sr., 69, of Leachville, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was the son of the late Thomas and Lillie Brannum Kennett and a lifelong Leachville resident. A graduate of Leachville High School, he was a lifelong farmer and had served on the Leachville School Board. Mr. Kennett was past master of the Leachville Masonic Lodge, board member of Monette Co-Op, and a member of the Leachville First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, June Tapp Kennett of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Billie Kennett of Martin, Tenn., Paul and Gale Kennett of Leachville, Jim and Phyllis Kennett of Leachville and Don and Terri Kennett of Leachville; a sister, Mary Rhodes of Paragould; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service were 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the First United Methodist Church in Leachville with Rev. Douglas Criss officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites was in Leachville Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers.

The family received visitors Monday evening at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville.
