Edna Hazel Drown

Edna Hazel Drown, 80, of Bay died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro, after having alzheimer's for many years and suffering a massive stroke. Mrs. Drown was born Aug. 6, 1928 in Martinsville, Ill., to the late Marion Stainbrook and Bertha (Kennedy) Stainbrook. She was a longtime resident of Wilmington, Ill., until she moved to Bay, seven years ago. She was of the Baptist faith, loved to embroider, decorate for every holiday, and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.

Survivors include three sons, William Drown of Bay, Robert Drown of West Plains, and Michael Drown and wife Arlene of Wilmington, Ill.; three sisters, Gloria Sharp of Bay, Marie Barbour and husband Richard of West Plains, and Debra Eatmon and husband Bob of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Bobby Stainbrook and Harold Stainbrook, both of Wilmington, Ill.; a sister, Ruby Hanson of Wilmington, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Mrs. Drown was preceded in death by her husband William Drowns and a grandson Johnnie Dean Wilson.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday June 6, at Oakwood Cemetery, in Wilmington, Ill., with the Rev. Ron Taylor officiating. Faith Funeral Service of Manila is in charge of arrangements.
