James Lawrence Lewis, Jr., 43, of Marmaduke, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at his residence after an extensive illness. Born Dec. 31, 1964, in Kennett, Mo., to the late James Lawrence Lewis, Sr. and Glenda Campbell Lewis, Mr. Lewis was a lifelong area resident. He was a member of Varner River Baptist Church, 1983 Holcomb High School graduate, Marmaduke girls softball coach, and welder for Allen Engineering of Paragould.

Survivors include his wife, Annette Lewis of Marmaduke; four daughters, Aleshia Lewis, Caitlin Lewis, Hannah Lewis, and Erica Lewis, all of Marmaduke; his mother, Glenda Campbell Lewis of Holcomb, Mo.; two sisters, LaDonna Buchanan of Gideon, Mo., and Shelia Fisher of Holcomb, Mo., and his grandmother, Margaret Lewis.

Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Lois Campbell, Mae Campbell and L.T. Lewis.

Services were at noon Oct. 10 at the First Baptist Church in Marmaduke with Rev. Kim Bridges officiating. Burial was at the Raners Chapel Cemetery near Lafe.

Pallbearers were Johnny Speaks, Justin Speaks, Louie Finney, David Robinson, John Hood and Darrell Carrol.

Honorary pallbearers were Tim Walker and Buddy Moore.
