Lawrence Eugene Murphy

Lawrence Eugene Murphy, 57, of Lake City, died Thursday June 26, 2008, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

He was born in St. Louis, Mo., and lived most of his life in Lake City. He was a retired carpenter and a member of First Baptist Church in Lake City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Mary Sue Craft Murphy.

He is survived by three daughters, Kimberly Dennis and son-in-law Richard of Jonesburg, Mo., Malinda Hudson of St. Louis, Mo. and Verna Murphy of Ballwin, Mo.; four brothers, Kenneth Murphy of Bono, Dennis Murphy of Lake City, Don Murphy of Pevely, Mo., and Mike Murphy of Imperial, Mo.; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Emerson Memorial Chapel, with Brother Sean Milliken officiating. Burial was private with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge.
