Sybil Virginia Winstead

Sybil Virginia Winstead, 86, of Manila, died Friday, May 23, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Manila she was the daughter of the late Roy and Myrtle Brown Douglas and was a lifelong Manila resident. Mrs. Winstead was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Ellis Winstead, in 1978, her infant daughter, Patricia Fay Wells, and her sister, Ruby Taylor. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Manila. Her family remembers her as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Winstead is survived by two sons, Sammy Ray Wells of Ravenden Springs and Floyd Winstead of Manila; two daughters, Jeanette Johnson of West Memphis and Nadine Winstead of Caraway; a brother, Hershel Douglas of Manila; 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday at Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Waymon Holt officiating. Burial was in Manila Cemetery.
