Brookland

Adis "Curly" Dean Williams, 76, of Brookland died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born Oct. 20, 1931, in Black Oak to Hugh and Effie Williams of Caraway.

Mr. Williams was retired from General Electric, was a self-employed carpenter and worked for J and R Concrete. He graduated from Caraway High School, served in the U.S. air force and was also a volunteer for prison ministries.

He is survived by two sons, Ronnie Williams of Montgomery, Ala., and Roger Williams of Tuckerman; two daughters, Gail Rece of Jonesboro and Rhonda Souheaver of Wynne; a sister, Ernestine Simpson; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Colyne Williams, and his parents.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home chapel with Jimmy Young officiating.
