William Douglas "Dub" Blackwood, 81, of Manila, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at the Manila Nursing Center. Born April 21, 1925, in Manila, he was the son of the late Robert "Bob" and Nora Carpenter Blackwood and had been a lifelong Manila resident. He was retired from the Montgomery Ward, formerly in Blytheville, and was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Manila.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Woolard Blackwood, of the home; two daughters, Lesley Suzanne Hunt of Hornersville, Mo., and Deborah Jean Smith of Blytheville; a brother, Lee Jay Blackwood of California; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the First Untied Pentecostal Church in Manila with Rev. Robert White officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.
