Monette

Jack Alexander, 74, of Monette, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born in Craighead County and had lived in Monette for 11 years, moving there from Memphis, Tenn.

He was a retired sales manager for Harcros Chemical Company in Memphis, Tenn., and was a member of the Community Fellowship Church in Jonesboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Justus Alexander and Mary White Alexander; three brothers, Elbert, Lafonso and Howard Alexander; and three sisters, Lela Cole, Audrey Teague and Justica Bray.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Alexander, of the home; a son, Jay Alexander, of Newbern, Tenn.; two daughters, Marcie Wright of Southaven, Miss., and Diana Gowen and husband, John, of Corinth, Miss.; a brother, Dan Alexander of new Smyrna Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Lazeta Causey of Katy, Texas, and Lavada Hardin of Salem; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Community Fellowship Church with Pastor Rex Holt and Pastor Dave Burgess officiating with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers were Ben Gowen, Brandon Gowen, Michael Wright, Jake Alexander, Josh Alexander, Luke Lothenore and Charles Teague.
